Movement:
Body Language
The focus on
opportunities for movement in a Sesame session is informed by the
work of Rudolph Laban. Laban worked in the early 20th century as
a dancer and choreographer, and developed a language of movement
observation and analysis in order to find the connections between
motion and emotion.
For some people,
using movement creatively helps express that which may not be known
to them primarily through talking. Together client and therapist
can explore what emerges through movement, dance and their own body
language - using the client's movements as the symbols and images
of what needs to be expressed.
